| Designed to be attached to the rear of your power water craft. They allow easy access out and into the water, during disembarking and retrieval. Enhanced stability, wide balanced surface area, swim deck or dive platform.
Rescue sleds were originally developed by Hawaiian Lifeguards to extract people quickly and easily out of their typically large surf-impact zone and popularized by big wave tow-in surfers who use them to launch and recover.
Australian Professional Ocean Lifeguards who have similarly pioneered rapid response sled-rescue techniques in the surf break, have been using their own hand-made sleds for ten years now. Much of this development has been on Queensland Gold Coast due to the quality surf environment and the local Lifeguards strong surfing skills
Originally they were made with foam/fibreglass construction which was heavy and even damaged the watercraft. With advances in foam polyethane technology different materials have been used and thoroughly tested in daily use under every extreme situation, with varied results.
Swellrider has come up with the latest closed cell polyethane sled which delivers the best combination of design and materials possible.
It does not absorb water (less than .002% 'absorption'), UV resistant, provides excellent floatation, is comfortable and user friendly (soft yet firm), overall - tough long lasting. |
